Construction Site Security in Kenya

Guards, night watch and dog units for building sites — protecting materials, plant and fuel from the day you mobilise until handover, and keeping a record of who and what goes in and out.

  • Delivery & access records

A site is most exposed when it is empty

Construction sites hold valuable, easily moved items — cement, steel, cables, tools, generators and fuel — behind a boundary that is often temporary and open in places. Losses tend to happen at night, at weekends and during the busy hours of deliveries when nobody is counting.

We plan site security around your programme: what has to be protected in each phase, where the vulnerable points are and how access is controlled. It can combine guards and night watch with K9 units and CCTV.

Protecting a site through every phase

The mix changes as the build moves from groundworks to finishes.

Gate & delivery logging

Records deliveries in and materials or equipment out, with time, vehicle and who authorised it.

Material store control

Watches the store, holds the access log and stops unauthorised removals.

Night & weekend watch

Cover for the hours when the site is empty and most at risk.

Worker & visitor access

Checks site passes or IDs so only people who should be there are inside.

K9 patrol for open sites

Dog and handler cover across ground that a guard on foot cannot see.

Fuel & plant protection

Watches generators, machinery and fuel stores, which are prime targets.

Security without mains power

New sites often have no permanent electricity. Cameras and lighting can run from solar power or batteries, so coverage does not depend on the grid. We install and maintain the equipment as well as providing the guards.

  • Cameras on the gate and material store, recorded on site
  • Solar or battery power for lighting and cameras at key points
  • Recordings kept so a loss can be investigated
  • An electric fence option for a permanent or long-running site

Mobilise & brief

Guards start and are briefed on your rules for access and deliveries.

Adjust

As the site changes, the plan changes with it.

Agree these before mobilising

  • Who authorises deliveries and removals — Guards need a named person and a written list.
  • Where materials and fuel are stored, and who holds keys — Access is only as tight as the keys.
  • Working hours and after-hours rules — Who may be on site outside normal hours.
  • How workers are identified — Site passes, IDs or a daily list.
  • What happens after an incident — Who is informed, who reports to the police and how it is recorded.

Common Questions

How many guards does a construction site need?

It depends on the size of the site, the number of entrances, the hours and the value of what is stored. We size it after a site visit and adjust as the build progresses.

Can guards cover nights and weekends only?

Yes. Many sites use their own staff by day and add night and weekend guards, since that is when most exposure is.

What if the site is remote or has no power?

Cameras and lighting can run from solar or battery systems. See our construction CCTV and solar pages.

What happens when the project finishes?

The arrangement is scoped to your programme. When the site is handed over the service is scaled down or ended as agreed in the contract.

Do guards keep delivery and removal records?

Yes, as agreed with your site manager: deliveries in, items out, times, vehicles and who authorised them.

Many building sites have no power yet -- solar CCTV cameras can cover the site from day one.
