Who can view the footage?

In a residential block, footage access needs to be deliberate. Qyvea sets up the system so that:

  • Each login is separate — no shared passwords between users
  • Footage exports are logged so management can see who accessed what and when
  • Resident requests are handled through management, not directly by staff

Common questions from landlords and managers

Where should CCTV go in an apartment block?

Priority positions are the main gate, pedestrian entrance, lobby, each lift interior or lift lobby, basement and surface parking, service corridors, rooftop access and any external boundary. Individual apartment doors are covered only if the landlord or management wants it and residents agree.

Can residents view the apartment CCTV?

Access is controlled by the landlord or management company. Typically only the caretaker, security and manager have viewing rights. Residents can request specific footage through the management if there is an incident.

Can CCTV integrate with apartment access control?

Yes. Cameras at each controlled door can be paired with intercoms and access readers so the caretaker or manager sees who is entering while the access log records it.

How many cameras does an apartment block need?
