Confirm the terminal connects, widen the date range, check the terminal has records, confirm the employee IDs exist in the software, then try again or use a USB download as a backup.
Key takeaways
- Confirm connection first.
- Widen the date range.
- Confirm the terminal holds records.
- Use USB as a fallback.
01Check the basics
- Test Connection works.
- The device status is Enable.
- The date range includes the days you expect.
- The terminal's own date is right.

02Does the terminal have records?
On the K40 Pro look at the attendance records or the record count under the data menu. If it shows zero, no punches were saved; check the user was enrolled and the terminal is actually recording.
03IDs must exist
Punches from unknown IDs may not appear against any employee. Add or sync the employee first. See add an employee and duplicate IDs.
04Try again
- Select the device and click Get Transaction.
- Choose a wide date range.
- Watch for error lines in the pop-up.
05Fallback
Use a USB drive. See USB download.
06A typical scenario
An office saw an empty list after Get Transaction. The date range ended the day before, and the terminal's date was wrong. After fixing the date and widening the range, the punches appeared.
Illustrative example based on common cases, not a named customer.
07Common mistakes
- Using a too-narrow range.
- Wrong terminal date.
- Employees missing in the software.
- Device disabled.
- Memory cleared earlier.
08Quick checklist
- Test connection
- Check status
- Check terminal records
- Widen range
- Check IDs
- USB fallback
