Qyvea Limited installs access control in apartment blocks across Kenya for landlords, property managers and management companies. The system is designed around the two things that matter most in residential blocks: making life easy for residents, and giving management a clear record of who entered the building, when, and by which door.
Residents use a card, fob or code. Visitors are admitted via intercom or by a temporary code.
Linked to a remote or long-range reader for residents' cars. See Automatic Gates.
Controlled so only residents and staff enter the block. Reception or caretaker can release for visitors.
Basement or surface parking controlled by reader or remote. Prevents non-resident parking.
Staff entry point with its own access level. Also used for deliveries and refuse collection.
Controlled access to plant rooms, tanks and rooftop. Often restricted to caretaker and management.
Walk the block and identify doors, gates and shared access points that need control.
Reader type per door, locks, cabling and software quoted door-by-door.
Fitting scheduled to minimise disruption. Residents notified in advance by management.
Caretaker and manager trained; residents issued credentials; documentation provided.
Common doors to control in an apartment block: the pedestrian gate, the vehicle gate, the main lobby door, the parking entrance, the service/caretaker door and any basement or rooftop access. Individual apartment doors are the resident's own choice, though some landlords install card or PIN readers on unit doors.
Residents release the gate or lobby door from their phone, from the intercom handset in their unit, or by issuing the visitor a temporary code or card. Deliveries can be handled by the caretaker after logging the courier.
Yes. Controllers and locks run on a battery backup so gate and lobby access continues through short outages. For longer outages the system can be connected to the building's backup power or a solar system.
The caretaker or manager adds residents to the software when they move in and removes their credentials when they leave. Every entry they made while they lived there remains in the audit log.
Cost depends on how many doors or gates are controlled, the reader type, and whether new locks or cabling are needed. Qyvea provides a free site survey and itemised quote per door.
A fingerprint and keypad access control reader mounted beside a glass office door. Staff unlock the door with a fingerprint, with a PIN as a backup.
Free walk-through of the block and itemised quote per door or gate.
