Qyvea Limited installs automatic gates for estates and gated communities across Kenya for HOAs, property developers and management companies. An estate gate has three jobs that a home gate does not: it has to run heavy cycle counts, it has to work with the estate's access control and intercom system, and the HOA has to be able to manage it without a technician on call every week. The Automatic Gate Installation page covers the process in detail.
Heavy sliding, cantilever or bi-folding gate at the primary entrance. Sized for vehicle traffic and the estate's image.
For service vehicles, refuse collection or a second access road. Often a lighter version of the main gate.
Walk-in access for residents, visitors and staff — controlled by the same access system as the main gate.
Barrier boom as an alternative to a sliding gate where the guardhouse controls vehicle entry manually.
Gates between phases or shared areas within a large estate, controlled by the same system.
Multiple individual home gates automated together under one HOA contract. See Gates for Homes.
Walk the estate with the HOA or manager. Every gate and access point noted.
Gate type, motor sizing, access control, intercom and integration quoted.
Gate-by-gate, with residents notified. Existing gates remain functional throughout.
Guardhouse and estate manager trained. Documentation handed to the HOA.
Heavy sliding gates, cantilever gates and bi-folding gates are the usual choices for an estate main entrance. Sliding and cantilever gates suit wide driveways; bi-folding gates open faster when the entrance is very wide.
Residents use long-range remotes, access cards or number-plate recognition. Visitors use an intercom or a temporary code. Staff use cards or codes with defined working hours. All entries are logged by the same controller.
Yes. Pedestrian gates at an estate can be controlled by the same access system as the vehicle gate — cards or codes for residents, intercom for visitors. The gate and the access controller log the entry.
The estate caretaker or security lead manages day-to-day operation from the guardhouse or estate office. Adding a resident's remote, disabling a lost card or issuing a temporary visitor code are all done from the software.
Cost depends on the number of gates, gate size and weight, motor choice, integration requirements and new fabrication. Qyvea provides a free site survey and itemised quote.
