How Many Solar Lights Do I Need? A Simple Way to Work It Out

By Qyvea Limited · Updated 20 October 2026 · 2 min read

The most common question we get is "how many lights do I need?". There is no single answer, but there is a simple way to find yours.

Step 1: list the places that need light

Gate, driveway, back door, parking, corners, paths. Write each one down.

Step 2: assign a size

Ready to light up your place?

Motion-sensor solar lights with the pole included. No wiring, no power bill. Pick your size:

Step 3: check overlaps

If two places can be covered by one larger light, buy one 2000W (KES 12,000) instead of two 1000W (KES 16,000). If the places are far apart, separate lights are better.

Step 4: get a second opinion

Send a photo or sketch to us on WhatsApp and we will review your plan and suggest changes.

In short: List the places, assign a size to each and combine where one larger light can cover two.

Frequently asked questions

Is it better to buy more small lights or fewer large ones?

Can I start with one?
