Light the estate before KPLC arrives, keep it lit through every blackout, and market a lower service charge.

Roads are the first thing a buyer sees and the last thing a developer wants to wait on. Here is why solar street lighting is the practical choice for estates.
Buyers and tenants view plots and units at all hours. An estate that is well lit at dusk feels finished, safe and established, which shortens the decision to buy.
No trenching, cable or KPLC connection to wait for. Roads can be lit as soon as the poles are in, so show days, handovers and security patrols are not held up.
Grid street lighting is a running bill someone must pay forever. Solar has no electricity bill, which keeps the service charge down and helps you sell.
Each light has its own panel and battery. Blackouts do not touch it, so residents are never walking in the dark.
Motion-triggered full brightness lights up anyone moving in the dark, which helps guards and camera footage.
Each light is a complete unit on its own pole. Install phase one now, add more as the next blocks go up, with no network to redesign.
| Grid street lighting | Solar street lights | |
|---|---|---|
| Trenching and cable | Required along every road | None |
| KPLC connection and meter | Required, with wait and fees | None |
| Monthly electricity bill | Yes, forever | KES 0 |
| During blackouts | Dark | Still lit |
| Time to first light | After civil works and connection | As soon as poles are in |
| Extending to a new phase | Extend cable and boards | Add more lights |
| Motion-triggered brightness | Extra equipment needed | Built in |
All three have a built-in solar panel, radar motion sensor, dim-then-brighten lighting, and a pole and bracket in the box.

Grid lighting turns a one-time project into a bill that follows the estate for life, and it goes dark when KPLC does. Solar is bought once, needs no network, and gives you a safety and security feature to put on the brochure on day one. Already building? Add the lights now and the estate is show-ready before the grid is.

Grid lighting needs trenches, armoured cable, distribution boards, a KPLC connection and a monthly bill that the estate or its residents must keep paying. A solar street light is one self-contained unit on a pole: no cable runs, no connection fees and no electricity bill, so roads can be lit before the estate is even connected to the grid.
Yes. Each light has its own solar panel and battery, so it is independent of KPLC. Blackouts do not affect it.
After dark the lights glow at a low level. When a person or vehicle moves near, the radar sensor takes that light to full brightness. Movement in the estate is lit up as it happens, and the lights save battery between events.
1000W (KES 8,000) for internal lanes, walkways and gates. 2000W (KES 12,000) for main estate roads, clubhouses and common areas. 3000W (KES 17,000) for the main entrance, parking lots, perimeter and open playgrounds. Send us your layout and we will suggest the mix.
The mounting pole and bracket come with each light. Qyvea can install across your whole project, in phases if you prefer, and we can do a site survey first. Cement, civil works and labour are quoted separately after we see the site.
Yes. Prices per light are KES 8,000, 12,000 and 17,000. Buying 10 or more? Send us the quantities and your site and we will send a written project quote with delivery and installation.
They are the model ratings. A bigger number means a larger LED array, solar panel and battery, so a wider, brighter light. It is not electricity drawn from the grid, because these lights draw none.
