Why Does My Solar Light Go Off Early?

By Qyvea Limited · Updated 20 October 2026 · 2 min read

If your solar light goes dark at midnight, it is not mysterious. There are a handful of causes and most can be fixed.

Not enough charging

Shade, a dirty panel or several cloudy days leave the battery partly empty. Fix the placement and clean the panel.

The sensor fires all night

In a busy spot, the light spends the night at full brightness. Move it, change its angle or use a larger light.

Ready to light up your place?

Motion-sensor solar lights with the pole included. No wiring, no power bill. Pick your size:

Wrong size

A light that is too small for the demand runs out. Choose the next size up.

An ageing battery

Batteries wear out over time. Ask your seller about replacement.

In short: Fix placement and cleaning first, then check size and battery.

Frequently asked questions

Should I buy a bigger light?

If placement and cleaning do not fix it, yes, a larger light has a bigger battery.

Is it normal in the rainy season?

Shorter runtime after cloudy days is normal and recovers.
