Opening or moving an office means buying from a dozen suppliers, unless you use one. This checklist covers what a typical Kenyan office of 5–50 people needs, with live prices from our store: items on this page currently cost KES 2,520 to KES 8,910.

1. Printing

A shared multifunction printer (print, copy, scan) suits most offices; ink-tank printers cost least per page for colour, lasers are fastest for text.

One good router for small offices; for larger floors, add access points so the signal is strong in every room. Plan structured cabling for desks and printers.

3. Phones

IP phones connect to an IP-PBX or cloud PBX so calls transfer between desks and extensions work across branches.

4. Power backup

A UPS keeps computers, the router and phones running through short KPLC outages and protects them from surges. For long outages, add an inverter or solar backup.

A cross-cut shredder for payslips, contracts and customer records, as Kenya's Data Protection Act expects personal data to be disposed of securely. See shredder prices.
