01What the video shows
A finished Hikvision CCTV installation using 4MP Smart Hybrid Light cameras, with the cameras mounted cleanly and the cabling finished neatly. A tidy installation is easier to maintain and far less likely to develop faults from loose or exposed connections.
4MP (2560×1440) gives noticeably more detail than 2MP, which helps when you need to recognise a face or read a number plate from recorded footage.
02What Smart Hybrid Light means
Smart Hybrid Light cameras carry both infrared and white-light LEDs. At night they record in infrared (black and white, discreet) by default, and switch on the white light to record in full colour when they detect a person or vehicle. That gives colour detail when it matters, like clothing colours and vehicle colours, without floodlighting the area all night.
Compare the night-vision options in IR vs ColorVu vs Smart Hybrid Light and resolution in 2MP vs 4MP vs 5MP vs 8MP.
03Where these cameras fit
Smart Hybrid Light cameras suit homes, compounds, shops and offices where colour at night helps, but constant bright light would disturb neighbours or give away the camera's coverage. For areas that need colour all night, ColorVu cameras are the alternative.

04Frequently asked questions
What is a Smart Hybrid Light camera?
A camera with both infrared and white-light LEDs. It records in infrared at night and switches to full colour when it detects a person or vehicle.
Is 4MP much better than 2MP?
Yes, for detail. 4MP has about twice the pixels, which helps identify faces and read plates, especially when zooming into recorded footage.
Will the white light stay on all night?
No. In smart mode it turns on only when a person or vehicle is detected, then returns to infrared.
