Qyvea Limited installs gate access control for homes and estates across Nairobi (Karen, Runda, Kitisuru, Lavington, Westlands and surrounding suburbs) and nationwide Kenya. Most homes already have an automatic gate motor and a remote control — access control adds a keypad, RFID tag or intercom-linked release so household members, staff and regular visitors don't all need to carry a remote, while occasional visitors are handled through the intercom.
The primary driveway entrance. Usually a remote plus a keypad or tag reader as backup.
A smaller gate for walking in and out without opening the full vehicle gate each time.
A separate code or tag for house staff, gardeners or a driver, revocable on its own.
Where visitors announce themselves and the resident releases the gate remotely. See Intercom Systems.
For multi-unit properties, a shared gate with individual tags per household or unit.
Every installation keeps a manual release for power outages or motor faults.
Most homes end up with a mix — remote for the family, a keypad or tag for staff, and intercom for visitors.
Check the existing gate motor (or plan a new one), power supply and intercom needs.
Reader type, number of tags/codes needed, and any intercom or CCTV addition, itemised.
Reader wired into the motor's control board, tested against the existing remote.
Household and staff codes/tags enrolled, and the family shown how to add or remove one.
The reader (keypad, RFID tag reader or intercom release) sends a signal to the gate motor's control board, the same way a remote control does. A correct code, tag or intercom release triggers the motor to open — no separate system to manage.
Not by default — visitors use the intercom to call the house, and the resident releases the gate remotely. A temporary code can also be issued for a specific visit and disabled afterward.
Every automatic gate installation includes a manual release lever so the gate can be opened by hand. Battery backup on the motor and control board also keeps electronic access working through short outages.
Yes. Each person can have their own PIN or tag, which can be time-restricted (for example, only valid during working hours) and revoked individually without affecting anyone else's access.
Cost depends on whether it's a standalone keypad/tag reader added to an existing gate motor or a full new gate automation project, plus whether intercom integration is included. Qyvea provides a free site survey and written quote.
