Hybrid Solar System 5kW Kit — Home/Office

Hybrid Solar System 5kW Kit — Home/Office

KES 296,000
Category: Solar Systems · In stock · Sold and installed by Qyvea Limited

A complete hybrid solar kit sized for an average Kenyan home or small office -- 12 panels, a 5kW hybrid inverter and a 5kWh lithium battery, able to run on solar during the day, charge the battery, and keep essential circuits powered through an outage.

What the 5kW Hybrid Solar Kit is

This kit bundles 12 panels rated at 450W each (roughly 5.4kW of panel capacity), a 5kW hybrid inverter that can run loads from solar, grid or battery, and a 5kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery for backup power. "Hybrid" means the inverter can use grid power, solar and battery together rather than being purely off-grid or purely grid-tied, which suits Kenyan homes that want both a lower electricity bill and backup during outages.

Who the 5kW Hybrid Solar Kit is built for

Homes with frequent outages

Keeps lights, networking, gates and essential appliances running when KPLC power drops.

Small offices

Reduces daytime grid consumption while protecting against outage-related downtime.

Homes wanting lower bills

Solar generation offsets daytime grid usage over the system's lifetime.

Properties with security systems

Keeps CCTV, gates and access control running through short power cuts.

New builds

Sized appropriately from the start rather than retrofitting a smaller system later.

Property developers

A standard, repeatable kit size for multiple similar units.

Inverter5kW hybrid
Battery5kWh LFP
Operation modeHybrid (grid + solar + battery)

Compatibility

  • Standard hybrid inverter compatible with most 48V battery banks
  • Can be paired with additional battery modules for extended backup where the inverter supports it

Installation Requirements

  • Adequate roof or ground-mount space with sun exposure
  • Structural capacity to support panel weight and mounting hardware
  • Space for the inverter and battery near the property's electrical distribution board

Power Requirements

Draws from solar during the day and battery/grid as configured; output is matched to the property's electrical circuits during installation.

Storage Requirements

Not applicable for this product. This is a power system, not a data-recording system.

Networking Requirements

Optional Wi-Fi/monitoring connectivity on the inverter for remote performance monitoring, where supported by the specific inverter.

Warranty

Warranty terms are set by the panel, inverter and battery manufacturers individually and confirmed at the time of purchase -- ask us for the current terms before ordering.

Product, installation, maintenance and support

The 5kW Hybrid Solar Kit is one part of a bigger picture -- here's how it connects to the rest of what Qyvea offers.

Installing the 5kW Hybrid Solar Kit

Solar kits should be installed and commissioned by a qualified installer -- panel mounting, inverter wiring and battery setup all affect both safety and system performance. Qyvea installs this kit as part of our Solar Installation service, including a load assessment to confirm the kit size actually matches your property's needs before committing.

Maintenance & support

A hybrid solar system benefits from periodic panel cleaning, inverter firmware checks and a battery health review. Qyvea offers ongoing solar backup system maintenance, whether the kit was installed by us or someone else.

5kW Hybrid Solar Kit questions

Is this system fully off-grid or does it still need KPLC power?

It's a hybrid system -- it works alongside your existing grid connection, using solar and battery to offset consumption and provide backup, rather than replacing the grid connection entirely.

How long does the battery run essential loads during an outage?

Runtime depends on what's connected -- lighting, networking, gates and a few essential circuits can run for several hours on a 5kWh battery, but a full house load will drain it faster. A load assessment during the site survey gives an accurate estimate for your specific setup.

Is this kit the right size for my property?

It's sized for an average home or small office. Larger properties or higher-consumption sites may need a bigger kit -- Qyvea's free site survey includes a load assessment to confirm the right size before you buy.

Does Qyvea install this kit, or only sell it?

Both. Buy the kit alone for your own installer, or have Qyvea supply and install it as part of a full Solar Installation project including a load assessment and commissioning.

What does installation cost on top of the kit price?

Installation cost depends on roof type, panel mounting complexity and cable runs. Qyvea provides a free site survey and itemised installation quote alongside the kit price.
