How it is calculated
Panels = daily kWh / (sun hours x panel kW x 0.75 system losses). Inverter = peak load x 1.25. Battery = average load x backup hours / usable fraction. Roof area assumes about 2.6 square metres per panel.
Results are estimates for planning. Real systems depend on site conditions; Qyvea surveys and quotes before installation.
Tips from our installers
- List appliances and their running hours to find your daily kWh honestly.
- Motors, pumps and fridges start with a surge: check the inverter's surge rating.
- Shade, roof angle and dust change real output.
Frequently asked questions
How many panels for 8 kWh a day?
About 4 to 5 panels of 550 W at 5 sun hours with 25% losses; use the calculator for your exact numbers.
Do I need a battery?
Only for power at night or during outages; grid-tied systems can run without one.
Is this a quote?
No, it is a sizing estimate. A site survey checks roof, shade and wiring.
