Buy Genuine Networking Equipment in Kenya

Qyvea Limited supplies networking hardware to businesses, ISPs, hotels, schools and homes across Kenya. Every device is genuine stock with a manufacturer warranty, backed by engineers who configure and support what we sell.

From a simple home router to a full multi-site network with managed switches, VLANs and enterprise Wi-Fi, we can help you design and supply the right equipment.

How to Choose the Right Networking Equipment

Networking gear is not one-size-fits-all. Match the equipment to your scale, budget and future needs:

1. Routers vs. Access Points vs. Switches

For a home, one router may be enough. For an office, you need a router + switch + 2–3 access points. For hotels and multi-floor sites, you need managed switches with VLANs and one AP per zone.

2. Managed vs. unmanaged switches

Unmanaged switches are plug-and-play and cheap — fine for small setups. Managed switches let you configure VLANs, port mirroring, link aggregation and QoS. If you're running IP cameras alongside office traffic, VoIP or multiple subnets, you want managed switches.

3. PoE — power over Ethernet

PoE lets one cable carry both data and power to a device. Essential for IP cameras, Wi-Fi access points, VoIP phones and intercoms. Standard PoE (802.3af) = 15.4W, PoE+ (802.3at) = 30W, PoE++ (802.3bt) = 60W or 90W. Match the PoE budget to your device count.

4. Wi-Fi — which standard?

Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) is fine for most homes and small offices. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) handles many devices at once — better for hotels, schools and crowded offices. Wi-Fi 6E adds the 6GHz band for even less interference.

5. Wireless bridges for long distance

Point-to-point (PtP) bridges connect two buildings without cables — good for connecting a warehouse to an office, or two office blocks. Ubiquiti airMAX, MikroTik Wireless Wire and TP-Link CPE are common choices.

6. Racks, cabling and structured cabling

Professional installations use a rack, patch panel, cable management and tested cabling. Cat6 or Cat6A is standard for gigabit networks; fibre is used for long runs or between buildings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I buy networking equipment in Kenya?

Qyvea Limited supplies genuine networking equipment across Kenya — routers, switches, access points and structured cabling. We stock MikroTik, Ubiquiti, TP-Link and other major brands. Nationwide delivery with same-day options in Nairobi.

What brands of networking equipment do you stock?

We stock MikroTik (RouterOS routers, CRS switches, hEX series), Ubiquiti (UniFi access points, EdgeRouter, airMAX wireless), TP-Link (Omada, Deco), plus cabling, PoE injectors, patch panels and network cabinets.

How do I choose between a managed and unmanaged switch?

Unmanaged switches are plug-and-play and cheaper — good for home or small office networks. Managed switches let you configure VLANs, port mirroring, link aggregation and QoS — essential for offices, hotels and multi-site networks with multiple subnets or IP cameras.

Do you install the networking equipment I buy?

Yes. Qyvea offers supply-only or supply-plus-installation. Our engineers handle structured cabling, rack builds, Wi-Fi site surveys and network configuration. Installation is quoted separately based on site complexity.

What is PoE and why do I need it?

Power over Ethernet (PoE) lets a single Ethernet cable carry both data and power to a device — ideal for IP cameras, access points, VoIP phones and intercoms. It removes the need for a separate power supply at each device. PoE+ (802.3at) delivers up to 30W per port; PoE++ (802.3bt) up to 60W or 90W.

Do you offer warranty on networking equipment?

Yes. All networking equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty — typically 1 to 5 years depending on brand and model. MikroTik and Ubiquiti offer extended warranties on selected products.
