Sample Project · Automatic Gates # Video: Sliding & Swing Gate Automation Both kinds of automatic gate in action: a sliding gate running along its track and a swing gate opening on its arms, each driven by its own motor. ### In this video - Sliding gate on a rack-driven motor - Swing gate on swing-arm motors - Remotes, safety beams and battery backup [Watch on TikTok →](https://www.tiktok.com/@qyvea_limited/video/7654219541999897863)[WhatsApp for a quote →](https://wa.me/254113301244?text=Hi%20Qyvea%2C%20I%20watched%20your%20sliding%20and%20swing%20gate%20automation%20video%20and%20would%20like%20a%20quote.) ## What the video shows Two automated gates: a **sliding gate** that runs along a track beside the wall, driven by a sliding gate motor and rack, and a **swing gate** whose leaves open inward on swing motors. Both open and close at the press of a remote. Seeing them side by side makes the difference clear: a sliding gate needs wall space beside the opening, while a swing gate needs clear space behind it for the leaves to open. ## Choosing between sliding and swing Sliding gates suit short or sloping driveways and windy sites, and are common where security is the priority. Swing gates suit level driveways with space inside the compound, and many owners prefer their look. The motor is chosen to match the gate's weight, length and how often it opens. Compare them properly in [sliding vs swing gate](https://qyvea.co.ke/sliding-vs-swing-gate-kenya) and pick a motor with the [gate motor selection guide](https://qyvea.co.ke/automatic-gate-motor-selection-guide-kenya). ## What a proper gate installation includes Beyond the motor: a gate that moves freely by hand first, safety beams across the opening, a battery that keeps the gate working through power cuts, remotes (and GSM or access control if needed), and a manual release for emergencies. Neither is better everywhere. Sliding gates suit short or sloping drives and windy sites; swing gates suit level drives with space inside. Do automatic gates work during power cuts? Yes, with a battery. The motor runs from the battery, which is charged from mains or solar. Can I open the gate from my phone? Yes, with a GSM or smart gate module added to the motor, alongside the normal remotes. ### Related services & guides [Automatic gates](https://qyvea.co.ke/automatic-gates)[Automatic gate installation](https://qyvea.co.ke/automatic-gate-installation-kenya)[Gates for homes](https://qyvea.co.ke/automatic-gates-for-homes-kenya)[Gate installation cost](https://qyvea.co.ke/automatic-gate-installation-cost-kenya)[Automatic gate guides](https://qyvea.co.ke/automatic-gate-guides-kenya) ### More sample projects [ZKTeco Fingerprint Attendance Check-In](https://qyvea.co.ke/zkteco-fingerprint-attendance-video-kenya)[Hikvision PTZ & Bullet Camera Outdoor Installation](https://qyvea.co.ke/hikvision-ptz-bullet-camera-installation-video-kenya)[Face Recognition Access Control on an Office Door](https://qyvea.co.ke/face-recognition-access-control-video-kenya)[Fingerprint Door Access Control: How It Works](https://qyvea.co.ke/fingerprint-door-access-control-video-kenya)[IP CCTV System Upgrade: Before & After](https://qyvea.co.ke/ip-cctv-system-upgrade-video-kenya)[Hikvision Face Recognition with a No-Touch Exit Button](https://qyvea.co.ke/hikvision-face-recognition-touchless-exit-video-kenya)[Hikvision 4MP Smart Hybrid Light CCTV Installation](https://qyvea.co.ke/hikvision-4mp-smart-hybrid-light-cctv-video-kenya)[Network Cabinet Redone for Clean Cable Management](https://qyvea.co.ke/network-cabinet-cable-management-video-kenya)[All sample projects](https://qyvea.co.ke/security-installation-videos-kenya) ### Real projects [Qyvea case studies](https://qyvea.co.ke/projects#case-studies)[Projects & Knowledge](https://qyvea.co.ke/projects) ## Want this installed at your site?
