Follow the 3-2-1 rule. How much does a slow, dropping network cost your team every single day? Read on: it takes a few minutes and could save you a lot more than that. **In this guide you will see:** - A NAS shares files; it is not a complete backup. - Follow 3-2-1: three copies, two media, one off-site. - Offline or cloud copies survive ransomware. Quick answer A NAS is a small box with shared disks on your network, giving everyone a central place for files. It is not a backup by itself. A good plan follows the 3-2-1 rule: three copies of your data, on two kinds of storage, with one copy off-site or offline. Test restoring files regularly, because untested backups often fail when needed.
