The grid fails on its own schedule, and your fence, cameras and lights go with it. Read on: it takes a few minutes and could save you a lot more than that. **In this guide you will see:** - Three domestic bands: lifeline, ordinary, high. - Fuel, forex, levies and VAT are added. - Your band follows your average use. Quick answer Kenya Power's domestic energy charge rises in bands: reported figures are roughly KES 12 per unit up to 30 units, about KES 16.5 from 31 to 100 units and about KES 18.6 to 19.1 above 100 units. Fuel and forex adjustments, levies and 16% VAT are added on top, so the real cost per unit is higher. Sources differ slightly, so check your receipt.
