Here's what to check before buying, and how Qyvea sources and installs Hikvision equipment. [Browse Hikvision Stock](https://qyvea.co.ke/cctv-camera-prices-in-kenya) The Real Concern ## Why This Matters Counterfeit and unofficial grey-market electronics are a genuine issue in Kenya's market, and CCTV equipment is not immune -- packaging, branding and even device firmware can be copied convincingly. Buying a counterfeit unit risks poor image quality, unreliable operation, no real warranty support, and sometimes security vulnerabilities in the device itself. What to Check ## How to Spot a Counterfeit ### Where you're buying from An established supplier with a real business address and after-sales support is a stronger signal than an unusually low price from an unfamiliar seller. ### Packaging & labelling quality Genuine Hikvision packaging is consistently printed and labelled; blurry printing, inconsistent fonts or missing serial labels are warning signs. ### Serial number consistency The serial number on the device, its packaging and any accompanying documentation should match exactly. ### Price that seems too good to be true A price dramatically below the going rate for a given model is a common indicator of a counterfeit or grey-market unit. ### Firmware & software behaviour A genuine device connects normally to Hikvision's standard software and receives firmware updates; unusual software behaviour is a red flag. ### After-sales support A genuine unit purchased through a proper channel should come with real after-sales and warranty support -- ask what this actually covers before buying. FAQ ## Common questions Does Qyvea sell genuine Hikvision products? Yes -- the Hikvision equipment in our catalog is sourced as genuine stock, not counterfeit or unofficial grey-market units. Are Qyvea's technicians certified on Hikvision equipment? Yes -- our technicians hold Hikvision Spark Program certification (see the About page), covering CCTV, access control and video intercom training. How can I check if a Hikvision product I already own is genuine? Check the serial number consistency between the device and packaging, and confirm it connects normally to Hikvision's standard configuration software -- if you're unsure, we can take a look. Why is counterfeit CCTV equipment a problem beyond just image quality? Poor build quality causes faster failure, warranty and support are typically unavailable, and in some cases counterfeit network devices carry genuine security risks. ## Unsure About a Product You're Considering?
