A firewall decides what is allowed in and out. The Wi-Fi works until the day everyone needs it at once. Read on: it takes a few minutes and could save you a lot more than that. **In this guide you will see:** - A firewall controls what traffic is allowed. - Basic routers have a basic firewall. - Business firewalls add VPN, filtering and logging. Quick answer A firewall filters network traffic using rules: it blocks unwanted connections from the internet, separates guest and staff networks, can filter websites and supports secure remote access with a VPN. Most small business routers have a basic firewall. Offices with cloud systems, remote staff, CCTV or customer data benefit from a proper business firewall.
