Sample Project · Access Control # Video: Fingerprint Door Access Control, How It Works A fingerprint and keypad access control reader mounted beside a glass office door. Staff unlock the door with a fingerprint, with a PIN as a backup. ### In this video - How a fingerprint reader decides who gets in - Keypad for a PIN as a backup - Simple, reliable access for offices, studios and apartments [Watch on TikTok →](https://www.tiktok.com/@qyvea_limited/video/7648996596138626322)[WhatsApp for a quote →](https://wa.me/254113301244?text=Hi%20Qyvea%2C%20I%20watched%20your%20fingerprint%20door%20access%20video%20and%20would%20like%20a%20quote.) ## What the video shows A fingerprint access control reader with a keypad and small screen, mounted on the wall beside a glass-partition office door. An authorised user places a finger on the sensor, the reader matches it and releases the door lock. It's a straightforward setup: no cards to lose or share, and a PIN on the keypad as a fallback if needed. ## Where fingerprint door access fits Fingerprint readers suit doors used by a known, fairly stable group of people: offices, studios, server and store rooms, staff areas and apartment entrances. Every entry is logged against a person, which matters when you need to know who went in and when. For busy entrances, or where people wear gloves or have worn fingerprints, face recognition or cards may suit better. See [fingerprint vs face recognition](https://qyvea.co.ke/fingerprint-vs-face-recognition-kenya) and [RFID cards, fobs and PIN access](https://qyvea.co.ke/rfid-cards-and-pin-access-kenya). ## Getting a reliable result Enrol two fingers per person, mount the reader at a comfortable height, and give it a stable power supply with backup. The lock, exit button and door hardware need to match the door: glass doors often use a magnetic lock with glass-door brackets. Planning several doors? Many fingerprint access readers can also record attendance, and the logs can be exported. For full shift and overtime reporting, a dedicated attendance setup is usually better. What if a fingerprint won't read? Re-enrol the finger, enrol a second finger, or use the PIN. See [biometric not recognizing fingerprints](https://qyvea.co.ke/biometric-not-recognizing-fingerprint-kenya). Can it be fitted on a glass door? Yes. Glass doors typically use a magnetic lock with glass-door brackets, with the reader mounted on the wall beside the door. ### Related services & guides [Access control systems](https://qyvea.co.ke/access-control-systems-kenya)[Access control for apartments](https://qyvea.co.ke/access-control-for-apartments-kenya)[ZKTeco F22 fingerprint reader](https://qyvea.co.ke/zkteco-f22-fingerprint-reader-kenya)[Door access control](https://qyvea.co.ke/door-access-control-kenya)[Access control guides](https://qyvea.co.ke/access-control-guides-kenya) ### More sample projects [ZKTeco Fingerprint Attendance Check-In](https://qyvea.co.ke/zkteco-fingerprint-attendance-video-kenya)[Hikvision PTZ & Bullet Camera Outdoor Installation](https://qyvea.co.ke/hikvision-ptz-bullet-camera-installation-video-kenya)[Face Recognition Access Control on an Office Door](https://qyvea.co.ke/face-recognition-access-control-video-kenya)[IP CCTV System Upgrade: Before & After](https://qyvea.co.ke/ip-cctv-system-upgrade-video-kenya)[Hikvision Face Recognition with a No-Touch Exit Button](https://qyvea.co.ke/hikvision-face-recognition-touchless-exit-video-kenya)[Hikvision 4MP Smart Hybrid Light CCTV Installation](https://qyvea.co.ke/hikvision-4mp-smart-hybrid-light-cctv-video-kenya)[Network Cabinet Redone for Clean Cable Management](https://qyvea.co.ke/network-cabinet-cable-management-video-kenya)[Sliding & Swing Gate Automation](https://qyvea.co.ke/sliding-and-swing-gate-automation-video-kenya)[All sample projects](https://qyvea.co.ke/security-installation-videos-kenya) ### Real projects [Qyvea case studies](https://qyvea.co.ke/projects#case-studies)[Projects & Knowledge](https://qyvea.co.ke/projects) ## Want this installed at your site?
