Sample Project · Access Control # Video: Face Recognition Access Control on an Office Door A face recognition terminal, with a fingerprint sensor as a second option, mounted beside an office door. Authorised staff are recognised and the door releases. ### In this video - Touch-free face recognition at the door - Fingerprint sensor as a second way in - Every entry logged with name and time [Watch on TikTok →](https://www.tiktok.com/@qyvea_limited/video/7577082146783759672)[WhatsApp for a quote →](https://wa.me/254113301244?text=Hi%20Qyvea%2C%20I%20watched%20your%20face%20recognition%20access%20control%20video%20and%20would%20like%20a%20quote.) ## What the video shows A face recognition access control terminal mounted on the wall beside a door leading into an office corridor. The screen shows the camera view while the terminal authenticates the person in front of it; below the screen is a fingerprint sensor, so staff can use either their face or a finger. When a face or fingerprint is matched, the terminal signals the lock to release, and the entry is recorded with the person's name and the time. ## How face access control works Each authorised person is enrolled once: the terminal captures their face (and fingerprint, if used) and stores a template. At the door it compares the live image against the enrolled templates in a fraction of a second. Access rules, like which doors and what hours, are set per person or group. Face recognition is touch-free and quick for busy entrances, while fingerprint gives an alternative for anyone the camera struggles with. Compare them in [fingerprint vs face recognition](https://qyvea.co.ke/fingerprint-vs-face-recognition-kenya). ## What a complete door installation includes The terminal is one part of the door. A proper installation also includes the lock ([magnetic lock or electric strike](https://qyvea.co.ke/magnetic-lock-vs-electric-strike-kenya)), an exit button and emergency break-glass on the inside ([exit devices](https://qyvea.co.ke/access-control-exit-devices-kenya)), a power supply with battery backup, and the software for managing users and reading the logs. Terminal placement matters too: mounting height, lighting and the angle people approach from all affect how quickly faces are recognised. ## Frequently asked questions Does face recognition work in the dark? Most face terminals have infrared or white-light illumination so they work in low light. Strong backlight, like a bright window behind the person, can slow recognition, so placement is planned around it. Can someone open the door with a photo? Better terminals use liveness detection to reject photos and screens. Ask about anti-spoofing when choosing a device. What happens in a power cut? With a backup battery the door keeps working. Magnetic locks release on power loss for fire safety; the design decides how the door behaves. ### Related services & guides [Door access control](https://qyvea.co.ke/door-access-control-kenya)[Access control installation](https://qyvea.co.ke/access-control-installation-kenya)[Access control for offices](https://qyvea.co.ke/access-control-for-offices-kenya)[Biometric access control](https://qyvea.co.ke/biometrics)[Access control guides](https://qyvea.co.ke/access-control-guides-kenya) ### More sample projects [ZKTeco Fingerprint Attendance Check-In](https://qyvea.co.ke/zkteco-fingerprint-attendance-video-kenya)[Hikvision PTZ & Bullet Camera Outdoor Installation](https://qyvea.co.ke/hikvision-ptz-bullet-camera-installation-video-kenya)[Fingerprint Door Access Control: How It Works](https://qyvea.co.ke/fingerprint-door-access-control-video-kenya)[IP CCTV System Upgrade: Before & After](https://qyvea.co.ke/ip-cctv-system-upgrade-video-kenya)[Hikvision Face Recognition with a No-Touch Exit Button](https://qyvea.co.ke/hikvision-face-recognition-touchless-exit-video-kenya)[Hikvision 4MP Smart Hybrid Light CCTV Installation](https://qyvea.co.ke/hikvision-4mp-smart-hybrid-light-cctv-video-kenya)[Network Cabinet Redone for Clean Cable Management](https://qyvea.co.ke/network-cabinet-cable-management-video-kenya)[Sliding & Swing Gate Automation](https://qyvea.co.ke/sliding-and-swing-gate-automation-video-kenya)[All sample projects](https://qyvea.co.ke/security-installation-videos-kenya) ### Real projects [Qyvea case studies](https://qyvea.co.ke/projects#case-studies)[Projects & Knowledge](https://qyvea.co.ke/projects) ## Want this installed at your site?
