A mall needs an IP network, central recording and clear ownership of footage, not a pile of separate kits. Most people only find out what their cameras missed on the day they needed them. Read on: it takes a few minutes and could save you a lot more than that. **In this guide you will see:** - IP cameras on a managed network. - Central recording and a control room. - Cover common areas; tenants cover their own units. Quick answer A mall or shopping centre usually runs IP cameras on a managed network, recorded centrally on NVRs or a server, and watched from a control room. Plan zones: entrances, atriums and corridors, escalators and lifts, loading bays, service corridors and the car park. Tenants often add their own cameras; the landlord's system should cover the common areas and keep a clear rule on who can view and export footage. [Photo: Alan J. It is possible, but agree access rules in writing first. Each tenant should own their footage; the landlord should own common-area footage. Do malls need number-plate cameras? Many do at the car park barrier, where a dedicated camera at the right angle reads plates far better than a general camera. How much storage does a large site need? Sizing depends on cameras, resolution and retention days. Ask the installer to show the calculation from the recorder's bitrate rather than guessing. Is footage subject to privacy law? Yes. Footage of people is personal data in Kenya. Use signage, limit access and keep export logs. See the sources below. ## Why customers choose Qyvea **Genuine brands**: Manufacturer warranty on what we sell, so you are not gambling on the box. **One team, start to finish**: The people who advise you also install and support it. **Fast answers**: WhatsApp replies usually within 30 minutes, and delivery within 24 hours in Nairobi. **Easy to buy**: Pay by M-Pesa, bank transfer or card.
