If two people can clock in for one, your payroll is a guess. Read on: it takes a few minutes and could save you a lot more than that. **In this guide you will see:** - Exact start and end for every shift - Night and weekend hours recorded automatically - Fewer disputes at payroll time Quick answer Wards cannot run on guesswork about who is on shift. A biometric attendance system (also called a fingerprint attendance machine or time attendance system) records who arrived, and when, with their own finger or face. For hospitals, that means exact start and end for every shift, and night and weekend hours recorded automatically. [Photo: George Prentzas / Unsplash](https://unsplash.com/photos/SRFG7iwktDk) Why this matters now ## Each pay period on paper records is another one you cannot check. ### If you wait - Colleagues clocking in for each other - Payroll built from paper and guesses - Disputes with no proof either way ### What you get - The person's own finger or face is the check - Reports ready for payroll - Fewer arguments at month end [ZKTeco K40 Fingerprint Time](/products/zkteco-k40-fingerprint-time-attendance-terminal-67 "ZKTeco K40 Fingerprint Time Attendance Terminal")[ZKTeco Mifare Cards](/products/zkteco-mifare-cards-11310 "ZKTeco Mifare Cards") [Get my free quote on WhatsApp](https://wa.me/254113301244?text=Hi%20Qyvea%2C%20I%20read%20your%20guide%3A%20Biometric%20Attendance%20System%20for%20Hospitals.%20I%20want%20biometric%20attendance%20sorted.%20Can%20you%20help%3F)Reply usually within 30 minutes. A paper register cannot prove a night shift started on time or that a swap actually happened. A terminal gives the matron and HR one record they both trust. ## Step by step Staff arrive~at the terminalScan finger or face~one secondPunch recorded~name and timeReport ready~for payroll ## Where it goes **Tip**: Best spot: at ward entrances and the staff changing area. ## In stock now ## Get a free survey **When to call a professional**: We survey your site for free, quote in writing, then supply, install, configure and train your team. Yes. Shifts, night hours and overtime rules are set in the software and applied to every punch. Is it hygienic for clinical staff? Face recognition and contactless cards avoid touching a sensor. Choose the method that suits your wards. Can it cover casual and locum staff? Yes. Enrol them for the days they work and remove them afterwards. Fingerprint or face recognition: which is better? Both are accurate on good terminals. Fingerprint suits most offices and is familiar. Face suits gloves, hygiene areas and fast flows. Many terminals offer both, plus cards as a backup. How much does a time attendance terminal cost? It depends on the terminal type, the number of staff and the software. See our [biometrics page](https://qyvea.co.ke/biometrics); we quote after a free survey. Does it work in a power cut or without internet? Yes. Terminals store punches and sync when power and network return. A small UPS covers short cuts. Do staff need to be trained? Enrolment takes about a minute per person, and we train HR and managers on the reports. ## Why customers choose Qyvea **Genuine brands**: Manufacturer warranty on what we sell, so you are not gambling on the box. **One team, start to finish**: The people who advise you also install and support it. **Fast answers**: WhatsApp replies usually within 30 minutes, and delivery within 24 hours in Nairobi. **Easy to buy**: Pay by M-Pesa, bank transfer or card.
