If you count cash many times a day, a counter saves time and a detector saves money. If a fire started tonight, would everyone wake up in time? Read on: it takes a few minutes and could save you a lot more than that. **In this guide you will see:** - Counters save time; detectors catch fakes. - Check the machine handles Kenyan notes. - UV, magnetic and infrared checks catch different fakes. Quick answer A money counter counts notes quickly and many include counterfeit checks. A note detector (UV, magnetic or infrared) helps cashiers catch fake notes. Shops, M-Pesa agents, bars and SACCOs that handle lots of cash gain the most. Choose a counter that handles Kenyan notes, check which detection methods it uses, and keep the machine at the counter in clear view of a camera. Many do using UV, magnetic or infrared checks. Check the model's detection methods and whether it supports Kenyan shilling notes. Is a counter worth it? If you count large amounts several times a day, yes. A smaller business may only need a detector. Where should it go? At the counter within view of a camera, with cash handling rules so the machine is not a place to skim. Do I need an alarm for cash? A drop safe and a panic button are sensible for cash-heavy businesses. ## Why customers choose Qyvea **Genuine brands**: Manufacturer warranty on what we sell, so you are not gambling on the box. **One team, start to finish**: The people who advise you also install and support it. **Fast answers**: WhatsApp replies usually within 30 minutes, and delivery within 24 hours in Nairobi. **Easy to buy**: Pay by M-Pesa, bank transfer or card.
